Salamander Walk

The salamanders are back!

Every spring the warm rains bring Spotted and Jefferson salamanders into the pond at Buzzard’s Roost to breed. Meet Ms. Myranda at the shelter house to have a close-up look at these interesting creatures. All ages are welcome. To keep your family safe, we will be hosting several walks so that we can limit the number of participants at each event, and masks are strongly recommended. A headlamp or flashlight is a must. This is a wet, muddy event, so dress appropriately. Consider bringing a change of clothes/shoes to make the ride home more comfortable and plastic bags to stow dirty things. See you there!!
