Project Greenspace is an eco-volunteer program of the Ross County Park District. Our mission is to improve natural areas and parks of all kinds in Ross County, both inside and outside the Park District’s boundaries. We help convert turf grass to native grasses and wildflowers, pick up trash along streams and roadsides, and improve parks and nature preserves by lending a hand to spread mulch, remove invasive plant species, or anything else to help create and conserve amazing outdoor natural areas.

Pickaway Ross Career and Technology Center sent students to Metaquah Nature Preserve to replace a stone patio that was in need of repair. They completed every aspect of the on-site project from digging the new water drain and demolition of the old patio, to the final product. They were able to use tools from their labs at school to set the grade for the patio. They learned about teamwork, leadership and gained real-life job experience while doing a fantastic job of installing a beautiful patio that will be there for multiple generations to enjoy. Kim Graves is the PRCTC staff member who assisted with the project. The patio is a natural sandstone patio, bedded in mortar. Made with stones from the park property.
